Asleep Now! (Author Interview)

Asleep Now! looks like the perfect book for new parents.  Can you tell us a little about it?
Asleep Now! is a reference work created out of personal necessity. As a mom, I faced various sleep issues with my children and, with the help of experienced moms and grandmothers, I learned how to help. This book presents my proven, gentle solutions in a ‘magical’ setting. A rested baby's smile is magical and applying gentle sleep solutions is wonderful. That's why I find that every solution has a little magic. As a reader you learn about gentle sleep solutions and how to apply them and, at the same time, dive into a magical word.
In order to help with various challenges, I explain over 35 gentle sleep solutions and in my Question & Answer Section there are more tips and application examples to help parents find the right solution for their child.
As a bonus I also consider the situation of the parents and provide an extra Free Mini Guide for parents with several tips on how to better cope with stress.
What inspired you when writing Asleep Now!
I love to write and while I was learning myself, I wrote down all my clous and ideas. Soon, other moms and dads in my neighborhood wanted to learn about my solutions and I gave out little notes with tips. My notes became very popular and writing everything down repeatedly, motivated me to collect all my tips in a book and to make that book available for all parents who want to read it.

What will readers get out of your book?
This book will, for instance, help:
- when a baby is not sleeping well, in general
- when a baby is not falling asleep easily
-  when a baby (only) sleeps in one’s arms, in the car, the stroller … and when parents wish that their little sweetheart would sleep in a bed, as well.
-  when a baby has (very) short sleep periods
-  when a baby is awake at night and sleeps during the day
-   when parents are exhausted and need some rest &
-   in many more cases

How did you come up with the ideas in Asleep Now!
The ideas are all based on years of experience.

Did anything stick out as particularly challenging when writing Asleep Now!
No, I loved to write the book and I am very happy to pass on what I have learned.

Can you tell us a little about your background?
I studied management and work on projects related to parenting. As a mom it was always important to me to focus on a healthy development and the natural needs of children. When it comes to sleep, I knew that I would never want to leave any baby alone with this challenge. It was very important to me to develop gentle aids and solutions that are simple and natural and help the baby and the parent.
