Believe! looks like an exciting story. Can you tell us a little about it?
Believe! is an inspirational story of a little girl who doubts herself and her ability to win a competition that she is participating in. Her friend Caleb encourages her to believe in herself and reminds her that all things are possible. With hard work and belief in herself she was able to win the competition.
The book includes worksheets for kids to write down the
things they are believing for.
Any plans to turn it into a series?
No plans currently.
How were the illustrations done in Believe!?
I found my illustrator on a website called FIVERR. I gave
him my ideas and he brought them to life. I always like to use vibrant colors
in my books. This illustration is no different.
That’s an amazing cover.
Can you tell us a little about it?
The cover of the book is meant to represent children of color so that they can see themselves doing great things, such as one day becoming a scientist. This book cover represents children of color, but it is for every child that wants to read.
What inspired the idea for your book?
Really, I just sat down one evening and the story started flowing. I guess I have this deep desire to inspire and motivate children. I try to encourage my children to read inspirational stories. I want to do that for my audience.
How did you come up with the title to your book?
The title came after the story. Once I was finished writing,
I thought this title would be fitting.
What age group is the book for?
Ages 5- 8 years old
Can you tell us a little about Kavia?
Kavia is a little girl with big dreams but needs a little help with self-confidence.
What part of the book was the most fun to write?
Having Caleb encourage her in all his wisdom 😊 He is a good friend.
What do you like to do when not writing?
Helping other women write and publish children’s books and
spending time with my family.
