What inspired you to write your book?
I love to cook. I wanted to share how easy it is to follow a
recipe and create a dish that is also good to eat. My mom encouraged me to
compile some of my favorite recipes and share them with others, especially
after the positive feedback I received from friends.
Who (type of reader) did you write the book for?
I wrote this book for anyone who is open to trying new things
or stepping out of their comfort zone in the kitchen. I know the kitchen can be
an overwhelming place, but I wanted to create recipes that will allow the
reader to try them.
What do you hope readers will get out of reading
your book?
Cooking is fun! You can create a tasty dish with minimal
ingredients as well as less time. You won’t have to spend hours in the kitchen.
Most of my recipes in the book can be done in under an hour.
How did you decide on your books title and cover
design?
I have been cooking since I was 9 years old. I took a cooking
class in middle school as part of one of my courses. During that class, I ended
up creating my first cookbook with the title of the book now. I gave a nod to
my joy of cooking. I wanted the front cover to at least have a play on the
title. I started with a graphic of kitchen supplies, then my mom came up with
the idea of using a dish in an actual pot. Once we agreed on the artwork, we
then worked on the color scheme of the cover. I knew I wanted to incorporate
blue in some way since I was dedicating the book to my late grandmother and that
was one of her favorite colors.
Were their experiences in your personal life or
career that came in handy when writing this book?
I really wanted honor my grandmother & family in some way
with my first book. They helped me find my passion for food early on. From
traveling to different states and even out of the country, my love for food and
the process a dish is made was intriguing for me.
What section did you have the most fun writing?
The entire book was fun to write and put together. If I had
to choose a section, it would be the desserts. I love sweets! I was excited
once I started on that section because it also the meant I was almost done with
the interior of the book itself. I still have more desserts to share with the
world 😊
If people can buy or read one book this week or
month, why should it be yours?
One Pot Wonder Recipes the cookbook is a labor of love, and a
piece of my story. It is a book for the entire family or anyone looking into
starting their cooking journey. All you need is one pot to get you started.
