Friendly Cats looks like an exciting children’s story. Can you tell us a little about it?
Well its about 3 friendly cats that live together with their
owner, in this book the
cats are in need of a nail trim determined by
their owner at the start of the story.
so she packs up the friendly cats after making an
appointment to the paw spa for the
3 of them. All 3 cats are a different age, colour
and size with their own unique
personalities and that becomes evident early on.
The book and series in general is
meant to take the cats on a adventure and learn
valuable lessons along the way that
in the end teach kids different things as well as
pointers on how to take care of cats!
Any plans to turn it into a series?
Yes! definitely, I have ideas for a few other stories to add
to that series already,
and I really believe the learning kids can get
from the books and the cats personalities
can create a lot more fun books for kids to enjoy.
How were the illustrations done in Friendly Cats?
I wrote the book and then wrote down my ideas for the
illustrations and hired a talented
illustrator to create it.
What inspired the idea for your book?
My cats inspired the idea, we have multiple cats and we are
very close with them, we
spend a lot of time with them and they are close
with us, when people come over they
cant believe how friendly and cool our cats are,
and they have such different but
distinct personalities so I thought it would be a
cool way to create something based
off of them and give back to children and parents.
What will readers get out of your book?
I think the book seems shorter than it is because its fun and
easy to read, I think
children will get good lessons out of it and enjoy
reading and looking at the
illustrations.
What age group is the book for?
From as young as readin to your children to about 6 to 8
years old id say.
What part of the book was the most fun to write?
Id say the end of the story, trying to wrap it all up.
What do you like to do when not writing?
I work on many different things I like to work on new ideas,
travel and cook.
