Angels, Herpes and Psychedelics looks like a great
self-help guide. Can you tell us a
little about it?
The book is an Awakening Memoir that exposes many vulnerable stories with the intention of harvesting life’s lessons and turning them into pearls of wisdom. It’s also a chronology starting at a time when I was a pharmaceutical executive and climbing the corporate later. The book shares incredible experiences and exposes devastating events that take place along my journey as I built a strong spiritual toolbox. Ultimately these circumstances have assisted me in integrating and embodying mystical inner wisdom. I share these experiences along with the crescendo of exploring plant-based medicines, more commonly referred to as psychedelics, as they catapulted me into the bliss of divine oneness. Through my stories, I encourage others to tap into their inner wisdom as I showcase a myriad of modalities and tools to help others live a life of peace in a world of chaos. If I dare to say - how to experience heaven on earth.
Any plans to turn it into a series?
Since
readers are on various spectrums of spiritual awakening, I’ve also written The
Awakening and Healing Handbook, which can be found on my website
BethBell.me. There are several other
books in development that further unveil illusions that will shift humanity
into the expansion of consciousness to another level. However, this book covers numerous topics
that will empower you to keep going on the inward journey for years to come.
How long did it take you to write Angels, Herpes and
Psychedelics?
It
depends on how you look at it. A year
and a half but it covered twenty years of my life. Technically it took me a year and a half to
write and publish the book. This was an
intense time for me as I was committed to it full-time. The reality was that I had been doing deep
inner work over the last 20 years, and writing the book felt like doing a
review of the lessons I’d already learned.
While I still had some big ‘ah-ha’ moments capturing them on paper, I
believe the bulk of the lessons had already been noted and have been marinating
for prime time.
What motivated you to become a writer?
My
soul. It was a random day that I heard my
higher-self speak loudly, saying, “You need to write a book about your life
journey lessons.” I’d always wanted to
write a wisdom book as an expert in something but not expose my own successes
and embarrassing stumbles. Despite my
initial resistance, I heeded the call and am elated that I did. I enjoy encouraging others to listen more
closely to the wisdom from within.
How did you come up with the title to your book?
Divine guidance spoke loud and clear on this - as it wasn’t a title I would have chosen on my own. That was probably the deepest inner work I had to do during the book writing process. Ultimately it helped me prepare for the critics and naysayers eager to throw stones as I stood naked.
Angels made the cover because they wanted to have a voice to share that we all have guardian angels. Sometimes they are angelic, and other times they come in the form of people to help us. Herpes was the hardest to accept because it meant bringing up a topic that no one wants to talk about - which made it obvious that it needs to be talked about. Especially knowing that everyone now understands virus shame after enduring the COVID-19 pandemic. We are all up for releasing trauma, no matter what caused it – abuse, illness, death, heartbreak, etc. This also provides a platform to talk about viruses of the mind which is the most eminent topic to be discussed.
Lastly
and most surprisingly - as a strict ‘anti-drug’ individual, psychedelics made
the spotlight. Being a flower whisperer,
I was able to hear the silent wisdom of mother nature, although I wasn’t
expecting to dive into the power of plant-based medicines, but I did. As a result, I’ve been able to experience a
God’s eye view that’s provided a north star for my journey here on earth. All of these experiences have culminated in
becoming a spokesperson to help shift the narrative around psychedelics as
incredible awakening agents. We all need
to unravel our minds so that we can get beyond the fear and back to love.
What will readers get out of your book?
Empowerment
to either actively participate in their awakening by leaning in and learning
from life lessons or receive encouragement to keep going if they’re already in
full force. It’s a tough gig waking up
and breaking out of the thought constructs and beliefs of the collective. However, being a unicorn can be magical
because it brings you back to your uniqueness while allowing an experience of
oneness on earth. The journey does
require enormous trust and surrender that requires you to deflect the fear that
the external world is constantly displaying.
What part of the book was the most fun to write?
The
awakening kiss at 30k feet. It was just
as magical to write about the experience almost 20 years later as it was experiencing
it happening in real time. Mostly
because it brings me back to knowing that love is within me and not coming from
someone else. It continues to be a
reminder that everyone on our path is an angel, because we’ve asked them to
help us remember something we forgot.
It’s only through our amnesia that we feel separate from Source. Some people refer to this energy as God or
the Universe, but I prefer to know it as the ultimate state of Divine oneness
with everyone and everything. It’s a
true knowing that only love is real, and it is our divine birthright, along
with abundance!
How did you come up with the story and ideas in Angels,
Herpes and Psychedelics?
They
are all true stories from my life’s journey. However, the names and some
locations have been changed to protect the privacy of the people discussed in
the book. Everything in it really
happened and is a recap of events through my lens of perception based on my set
of life experiences that I so eloquently and yet painfully called in for my
growth. When you sign up for my Bliss
Book Club where we do deeper dives, I share more stories that were cut from the
book. In addition, I explain in depth
the pearls of wisdom that I learned along the way.
Can you tell us a little about your background?
I left my corporate life as a pharmaceutical executive while living in Singapore to become an entrepreneur in Bali. After closing my Brick and Morter store on Monkey Forest Road in Ubud, my products are now sold online. I’m also an advisor, and show host on mission “Pollinating the Planet with Love.” It’s by shining the light and showing the way, that we inspire others to return to love and explore who they really are, not who they think they are or should be for others.
I’m
also the mother of an adorable Bali dog who was rescued by the side of the
road. We lived together in Ubud for five and a half years before relocating to
the United States. The culture shock of returning
to the United States after living seven and a half years in Asia was difficult
for both Lily and me.
