I grew up on a sandlot. The back story to this book is my childhood and the wonderment of dreaming of becoming a Big Leaguer

The relationship between Jack and Mr. Davis was inspired by mentors in my own life who believed in me when I doubted myself, guiding me with their wisdom and kindness.
Furthermore, in today's fast-paced world, I felt a yearning to revisit the simplicity and enchantment of childhood. There's an innocence in that time, a purity of dreams and friendships, which I wanted to capture in this story.
